AVGSL's main goal is to insure that the players are in a fun, positive environment while learning and expanding their softball skills. AVGSL promotes a sense of belonging for everyone. We emphasize teamwork and the sense of individual success that contribute to team sports. No player will sit out more than 2 innings during a game, thereby providing a player to make contributions to their team and participate in a large part of all activities.

Free clinics available for
AVGSL players and coaches

To help develop the skills of all players and coaches in Almaden, the league has arranged clinics to sharpen your softball techniques before the season begins. The dates for these sessions have been set, however the content for the sessions is still being developed. Please check back soon to see what we have arranged for the players and coaches.

Players Clinic - Saturday, January 23rd at Bret Harte

This is an all-skills clinic available to all age groups being presented by the coaches and players from the Santa Clara University Broncos Softball Team.

Coaches Pitching Clinic - Saturday, January 30th at Bret Harte

9:00AM - 12:00 PM - Coaches' pitching clinic with Leann Emery of Cutting Edge. Our coaches will learn how to teach the windmill fastpitch delivery to their players.

1:30PM - 4:30PM - Foundation Coaching Clinic with the staff of Cutting Edge. This clinic is designed for less experienced and newer coaches. Emphasis will be on fundamental techniques, and how to run effective, engaging practices
