AVGSL's main goal is to insure that the players are in a fun, positive environment while learning and expanding their softball skills. AVGSL promotes a sense of belonging for everyone. We emphasize teamwork and the sense of individual success that contribute to team sports. No player will sit out more than 2 innings during a game, thereby providing a player to make contributions to their team and participate in a large part of all activities.

The Almaden Lightning is comprised of the very best players from the Almaden Valley Girls Softball League.

Our goal is to provide the best environment for the players in order for them to grow as players and individuals. We believe in working hard while keeping the perspective that these players are 7 and 8 years old. We will practice 2 days a week- Tuesdays and Thursdays, and play our games on Saturday’s and Sunday’s.

One of the most important things we will ask of everyone is respect. Players need to respect each other and their coaches. Coaches need to respect their players and parents. Parents need to respect the coaches and their decisions.

The entire coaching staff will make decisions regarding positions and playing time. If you have specific questions or concerns please speak with the Head Coach.

Our team goals are to have fun playing softball, make new friends, develop better skills, and be competitive in every tournament.
