AVGSL's
main goal is to insure that the players are in a fun, positive
environment while learning and expanding their softball skills. AVGSL
promotes a sense of belonging for everyone. We emphasize teamwork and
the sense of individual success that contribute to team sports. No player
will sit out more than 2 innings during a game, thereby providing a player
to make contributions to their team and participate in a large part of
all activities.
Come
join the
fun!!!

| Bob
Gray Invitational Tournament
8U Tournament a huge success
AVGSL hosted the 2nd Annual Bob Gray Invitational
Tournament for 8U teams throughout Northern California May 31-June
1 at Graystone Elementary. Picture perfect weather and some great
softball made this tournament a great time for players and their
families alike. AVGSL's neighbors, the Campbell Crush bested the
Livermore Smoke in the championship game.
Parents can order
action photos taken at the games by local photographer Tony
Avelar. Plans are already taking shape for next year's Bob
Gray Invitational.

Lightning
strikes at early tournaments
AVGSL tournament teams playing well, and winning big!
Almaden
Lightning teams showcase our girls' skills and our league's commitment
to developing softball players for life. So far the 2008 tournament
teams are showing leagues how that pays off. AVGSL's
12UB Lightning took first place last weekend in Morgan Hill
, following a second place finish in the Livermore Smoke Tournament
on Memorial Day weekend. The AVGSL's
10U B Team came in second place at the Morgan Hill tournament
as well. ALL the Almaden Lightning teams secured number 1 seeds
on Saturday going 8-0-1 in pool play. The
10U C Lightning were the top seed in their first tournament,
and the 10U B Team and 12U B Lightning teams went 3-0 on Saturday
as well.
